Description of Product:
1. Created a gMail account to be used in your EDT courses
2. Setup an iGoogle home page with a theme.
3. Added the following gadgets: Documents, Calendar, Sticky Notes, Pictures, Bookmarks, Reader plus additional gadgets.
4. Setup Picasa and Google Reader. You should select 2-3 educational RSS feeds to display.

iGoogle website needs to have a minimum of 6 gadgets: 5 educational resources and the Google Documents gadget. All gadgets must be educationally appropriate and provide resources for students to complete the project. (No advertisements associated with the gadgets.) Using multiple resources and web-based technologies and applications: there must be several resources on the iGoogle page for students to use. Student must use application located in the Google Document Environment.

Description of Product: The candidate will design a computer-based instructional unit using the Google Documents Environment. The instructional unit is designed for collaborative learning in a face to face (classroom) and virtual learning environment. The purpose of the instructional unit is to facilitate learning without constant supervision, (1) to promote creative thinking, (2) to encourage students to explore real-world problems and issues; (3) to critique or evaluate products, processes, or original work, and (4) to produce a new product or process. The instructional activity you design will require the students to conduct research, manage the process, and create a new product. The learning is conducted in a cooperative learning or collaborative learning format and the takes place in the classroom ( f-2-f) and out of the classroom (online virtual learning environment). The product you will use to design the instructional unit is Google documents and iGoogle website.
The instructional unit has to gain the student’s attention, introduce the topic, present new content, provide areas for team-work, provide students opportunities to practice new knowledge and skills, and area for them to design and create the new product/process, and assessment techniques. It is help in setting group goals if student self-assessment to help them identify what they know and can do. When students understand the instructional goals and how well their knowledge/skills align with the instructional goals, then they are able to identify and establish group goals and assign tasks. You must create an instructional unit for teachers, an instructional activity for students, assessment tools: formative/summative and self-assessment strategy, collaborative tools for team-work, in the Google Documents area. The iGoogle website will provide instructional resources.
